Wheelchair Curling

Dear Frankie. I want to tell you all about Wheelchair Curling. Wheelchair Curling is a Paralympic sport where there is only one tournament. Female and male athletes are on one team and there are two teams in one game. Each athlete takes turns pushing a stones that are very heavy. They push the stones toward a series of rings or circles. The object of the game is to get the stones as close as possible to the rings. Each person throws 2-8 stones and the stones must be thrown while the wheelchair is stationary. The game consists of 8 rounds or ends. Canada has won one gold medal. Sonja Gaudet won a gold medal in the Torino 2006 Paralympic Winter Games. She is best known for her gold medal performance. 1. This sounds right up my alley! How cool it is that even if you have wheels you can still compete and do sports!

    Your pal,
